drivers installed my system does not crash with the Crucial M500 960GB SSD installed. I can report that with my new Asus Sabertooth Z87 motherboard with the new Intel RST 12. I had to RMA my Asus Maximus VI Extreme motherboard so I so I do not know if the below will work on the M6E, but it does work on the Asus Sabertooth Z87. I am just having problems with the two Crucial M500 960GB drives.Īny ideas on how I can get the drives formated so I can use them and the PC will not BSOD? I have already successfully initialized / formated a 840 Pro 256GB and a WD 2T HD. The PC this is on is a 4770K / Maximus VI Extreme and Window 7 Ult 64b is completely updated (includes SP1). I then used diskpart to clean all, convert to gpt, convert back to mbr, created a partition primary, all that went great, but when I used diskpart to format the drive after I created the partition the PC BSOD'ed. When you turn the PC back on the drive was gone from Windows Explorer.Īfter reading about this on the net with only one drive plugged in I also uninstalled the driver, turned the PC off/on so the driver would reinstall and nothing changed, same problem/results. With only one drive plugged in I tried that and it would format the drive, I could copy and delete files from it, but when I would turn off the PC it would BSOD. It was suggested that I try Mini Tool Partition Wizard. I posted the above yesterday in the Crucial Support forum. Both BSOD's were code 4a.ĭid I get two bad drives? If not then what am I suppose to do so the wizard will complete and create the simple volume and the volume label I want to name each drive? I am using the default NTFS for a file system and default for the allocation unit size. I have tried to use the wizard on each drive five times and I also have gotten two BSOD's while the wizard was trying to format. I try to install the drives one at a time with only one plugged in when I turn on the PC. Refresh." See the attached screen shot for the whole error message. I am trying to install two M500 960GB SSD's then after I run the "New Simple Volume Wizard" and it starts to format the drive the blue wheel just keeps spinning for 5 to 7 minutes and then I get an error message "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date.
